Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Picks Up 81-46 Victory Over Wright State

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team closed out its regular season home slate Wednesday, earning an 81-46 victory over Wright State. With the win, the Vikings are now 23-7 on the year and 14-5 in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
-Mickayla Perdue paced the Vikings with 20 points, while Sara Guerreiro added 17 points.
-Destiny Leo and Sara Guerreiro both grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while Mickayla Perdue recorded six boards.
-Cleveland State combined to shoot 57-percent from the floor on the game, including a .714 clip during the third quarter.
-The Vikings recorded 17 assists on the night, including four from Macey Fegan and Mickayla Perdue.
-The Cleveland State defense recorded 10 steals, including three from Filippa Goula.
-The Vikings combined for nine blocked shots, including six from Mya Moore.

Game Notes
-Mickayla Perdue recorded her 16th 20-point game of the season after finishing right on the number against Wright State.
-Jordana Reisma was playing in her 100th game at Cleveland State.
-After shooting 57-percent on the night, Cleveland State has now shot 50-percent or better during 11 games.
-The 10 steals on the game marked the seventh time this season that Cleveland State has recorded double-digit steals.

The Game
After trading baskets to begin the contest, the Vikings used an 11-0 run midway through the opening quarter to gain a 19-5 lead on a Sara Guerreiro jumper with 3:45 left on the clock. Although the Raiders were able to stop the scoring run, a Mickayla Perdue layup gave the Vikings a 21-7 advantage heading into the second frame.

The second quarter started much like the first, with both teams trading baskets, before an 8-0 run from Macey Fegan and Perdue extended Cleveland State's lead to 33-11 late in the frame.

With the score at 34-13 Cleveland State at the halftime break, the two teams played an even start to the third quarter, until an 8-0 run from the Vikings – including back-to-back three-pointers from Fegan and Perdue – extended the lead to 30-points at 62-29 heading into the final 10 minutes of action.

The Vikings then controlled play throughout the fourth quarter, pulling away with the 81-46 victory.
