Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Earns 85-53 Victory Over RMU On Senior Day

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team got back in the win column Saturday, picking up an 85-53 victory over RMU on Senior Day. With the win, the Vikings are now 22-7 overall and 13-5 in Horizon League play.

The Game
Cleveland State opened the contest with a pair of Mickayla Perdue three-pointers and a 2-for-2 trip to the free throw line from Perdue, gaining an 8-0 lead just two minutes into the contest. The Vikings extended their lead to 15-0 with a Jordana Reisma layup at the 3:06 mark, before closing out the first quarter with a 23-8 advantage.

The Vikings opened the second quarter with yet another Perdue three-pointer, extending their lead to 26-8, before closing the frame on an 8-1 run, capping off a 49-19 first half advantage with a Grace Ellis three-pointer as time expired.

Cleveland State carried its momentum into the third quarter, as an 8-2 run to open the frame gave the Vikings a 57-21 lead on a Macey Fegan three-pointer with 7:15 left on the clock. The Vikings then controlled play throughout the rest of the quarter, closing out the frame with four straight points from a Sara Guerreiro layup and a pair of Paulina Hernandez free throws, taking a 68-35 lead into the final 10 minutes of play.

The Vikings then closed out the game throughout the fourth quarter, coming away with the 85-53 victory.
