CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (4-2-4) extended their unbeaten streak to seven straight games with a 1-0 shutout of Bowling Green (4-6-2) on a rainy Tuesday evening.
The opening half went scoreless, with the Falcons holding a 7-4 advantage in shots.
The Vikings struck for the only goal of the game just six minutes into the second half as
Matteo Correia finished off a through ball from
Jacob Deever. With the goal, Correa is now tied with
Peleg Armendariz for a team-best three strikes.
Bowling Green held a 14-12 advantage in shots during the game and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. The Green and White took five corners compared to three for their opponents.
Josip Rimac came off the bench to tie Armendariz with a team-best three shots.
Ryan Poling picked up his third shutout of the year after making six saves.
Cleveland State starts a three-game road trip with Robert Morris on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m.
