Cleveland State Men's Soccer Claims 2025 #HLMSOC Regular Season Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Cleveland State (7-2-6, 5-0-3) used two second-half goals to claim the program's second-ever Horizon League Regular Season Championship with the 2-1 victory over IU Indy (5-8-3, 2-5-1) on Friday afternoon.

The Vikings' victory extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games, tying the longest in program history, established in 1979. Both Horizon League regular-season championships have come under head coach Sinisa Ubiparipovic.

IU Indy opened the scoring in the 14th minute and maintained that advantage at the half.

The Vikings couldn't have drawn up a better start to the new half, as Uzman Ramees equalized less than a minute in off a pair of passes from Djordje Petrovic and Daniel Ceslo.

Cleveland State capped off the miraculous second half with Ceslo's game-winner in the 89th minute, which was also the first of his career off a pass from Lennart Heck.

The Vikings held a slim 10-9 edge in shots, while both teams had four shots on goal apiece. The Green and White led the corner kicks, 6-2.

Peleg Armendariz led the way with three shots, while Josip Rimac and Ceslo had two shots apiece. Ryan Poling had three saves in goal.

The Vikings conclude the regular season at home on Tuesday, November 4, at 2 p.m. against Green Bay.
