CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (3-5-6, 0-2-5) fought to its second consecutive scoreless draw against Wright State (6-5-3, 3-0-3) on Sunday afternoon.
The first half went scoreless, with the Green and White doubling up the visitors in shots 6-3 and shots on goal 4-2.
Cleveland State had two excellent opportunities in the second half, with shots going off the crossbar by
Maria Bashardoust in the 75th minute and
Emilee Tonkovich in the 80th minute.
Hayleigh Lewis picked up her second straight shutout in goal after making seven saves.
Both teams attempted 14 shots on the day, with the visitors holding a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. Corner kicks favored the home team, 9-7.
Cortlyn Hefty had a team-best four shots with three on frame.
Mayra Sesmas and Tonkovich each had two shots.
The Vikings will now head to Robert Morris on Thursday, Oct. 16 for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
