AKRON, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team was back in action Friday, competing at the Akron Invitational.
Overall, the Vikings finished with eight top-10 individual finishes on the day.
Trinity Lamp paced the Vikings in sprint events, advancing to the finals of the 60 Meter Hurdles, and placing fourth overall with a time of 9.03. In addition to Lamp,
Zuriah Radeff-Koonce also recorded a top-10 sprint finish, placing seventh in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:00.36.
The duo of
Brooke Bechtel and
Ariana Coats recorded a pair of top-10 finishes in the 5000 Meter Run, Bechtel with a time of 18:57.11 to finish sixth and Coats with a time of 19:37.48 to finish 10
th.
Madison Luthy and
Natalie Pleban both recorded fifth place finishes in their respective field events Friday, Luthy with a mark of 5.20 in the Long Jump and Pleban with a mark of 1.50 in the High Jump. In addition, Radeff-Koonce placed sixth in the Shot Put (12.07), while
Lily Tomasheski placed 10
th in the same event with a mark of 11.55.
Cleveland State will be back in action next week, taking part in the two-day Jud Logan Light Giver on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8.
