Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Falls At Green Bay, 66-52

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team returned to Horizon League play Thursday, dropping a 66-52 contest at Green Bay. With the loss, the Vikings are now 17-5 overall this season and 8-3 in #HLWBB play.

Game Stats
-Mickayla Perdue paced the Viking offense with 17 points, while Mya Moore added 14 and Sara Guerreiro chipped in 12.
-Mya Moore grabbed a team-best seven rebounds, while Sara Guerreiro had five boards and Macey Fegan and Destiny Leo both grabbed four.
-The Vikings finished with four blocked shots on the game, including two from Mya Moore.

Game Notes
-Mya Moore tallied a season-high with her 14 points on the game.
-Cleveland State shot 91-percent from the free throw line on the night (11-12), marking the third time this season that the Vikings shot over 90-percent.
-With 11 assists, the Vikings have now recorded double-digit assists in all but one game this season.

The Game
After trailing by 10 points at the halftime break at 27-17, a Macey Fegan three-pointer at the 7:28 mark opened the scoring for the Vikings during the third quarter, and closed the gap to single digits at 28-20.

Despite Green Bay regaining a 13-point lead over the next four minutes, the Vikings were able to work their way back into the contest with a 7-0 run that closed the gap to 37-31 on a Mickayla Perdue jumper with just 1:24 left on the clock. Cleveland State then closed out the frame on a mini 5-3 run, coming within four points at 40-36 following a pair of Perdue free throws in the final seconds of the frame.

The two teams traded baskets over the opening minutes of the fourth quarter then, until a 9-0 run from the Phoenix put the advantage back at double-digits at 54-41 with just over five minutes left to play. Green Bay went on to control play throughout the remainder of the contest then, coming away with the 66-52 victory.
