Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Earns 61-39 Victory At IU Indy

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team picked up its 15th win of the 2024-25 campaign Saturday, earning a 61-39 victory at IU Indy. With the win, the Vikings are now 15-4 overall this season and 7-2 in Horizon League play.

Game Stats
-Jordana Reisma led the Viking offense with 21 points, while Mickaya Perdue chipped in 10.
-Jordana Reisma grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds, while Sara Guerreiro added eight boards.
-The Vikings shot 43-percent on the day, including a .533 clip during the third quarter.
-As a team, Cleveland State recorded 10 assists, including three from Destiny Leo, Grace Ellis and Sara Guerreiro.
-The Viking defense forced IU Indy into 16 turnovers, turning these miscues into 22 points.

Game Notes
-With 21 points and 10 rebounds, Jordana Reisma recorded her third double-double of the season, and marked her fourth 20-point game of the year.
-The 10 assists marked the 18th double-digit assist game of the year.
-After holding IU Indy to just eight points during the first and third quarters, the Vikings have now held their opponent to single digits during multiple quarters three times this season.

The Game
For the second straight game the Vikings were able to get out to a quick start, using a 13-0 run during the opening quarter to gain a 17-7 advantage following a Mya Moore layup.

After taking a 17-8 lead into the second quarter, the Vikings were able to regain a double-digit advantage on a Jordana Reisma free throw on the opening possession of the frame. The two teams then traded baskets throughout the second quarter, with Cleveland State taking a 29-21 lead into the halftime break.

The Vikings carried their momentum into the third quarter, opening the frame on a 10-4 run, gaining a 39-25 advantage following back-to-back baskets from Macey Fegan and Reisma. Cleveland State was then able to extend its lead a few minutes later, as five straight Reisma points put the Vikings up 44-25 with 3:20 left in the frame.

After holding IU Indy to just eight points during the third quarter, the Vikings held a 21-point lead at 50-29 heading into the fourth and final frame.

The Vikings then controlled play throughout the final 10 minutes of action, coming away with a 61-39 victory.
