CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State women's basketball team continued Horizon League play with another win Thursday, picking up a 67-53 victory against Youngstown State. With the win, the Vikings are now 16-4 overall this season and 8-2 in Horizon League play.

The Game
After trailing by three points at 11-8 following the first quarter of play, the Vikings used a 24-point second quarter to swing the momentum in their favor and take a 32-20 advantage into the halftime break.
Cleveland State used a 5-1 run over the first 1:17 of the second frame to gain a 13-12 lead on a trio of
Mickayla Perdue free throws, while back-to-back baskets from
Sara Guerreiro and
Jordana Reisma a few plays later extended CSU's lead to 17-12 midway through the frame.
As part of a 10-0 run late in the frame, the Vikings were able to gain a double-digit lead at 25-14 on a
Macey Fegan layup, before taking a 12-point lead into the halftime break.
The Vikings carried their momentum into the third quarter then, as an 8-2 run to start the frame forced a YSU timeout after a Perdue three-pointer put the score at 40-22 with 6:52 left on the clock. A
Destiny Leo three-pointer on the ensuing possession extended the Viking lead to 43-22 before both teams traded baskets over the final minutes of the frame, with Cleveland State holding a 49-31 edge going into the final 10 minutes of play.
The Vikings then controlled play throughout the remainder of the contest, coming away with the 67-53 victory.
