Muncie, IN-The Cleveland State women's golf team is in action for the first time this fall as the Vikings tee it up at the Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic. The tournament consists of 54 holes and will begin with 36 holes on Monday with the final round on Tuesday morning. Play begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday.
Cleveland State is making its third appearance in the event over the last four seasons. The Vikings finished fourth as a team in 2021 and tied for eighth in last fall's tournament.
Cleveland State returns five players from last year's squad led by senior
Mandie Ruminski, junior
Brynna Mardis and sophomore Kaitlin Kormuth. All three saw action in the Viking lineup for the majority if not all of last season.
Abby Blackburn and
Kaylin Kline are also among the returning group. Cleveland State welcomes one newcomer to this year's roster in freshman
Chloe Holton out of Rocky River.
The Vikings are one of 12 teams in the tournament field. Fellow Horizon League members Green Bay and IU Indianapolis will tee it up in the event. The tournament is held at The Players Club at Woodland Trails which will play to a par-72 and measure 6,262 yards for the event.
Live scoring will be available on Golfstat throughout the event. Cleveland State begins the day on holes 13-18 in round one.
