TEMPE, Ariz. – For the 11
th straight season the Cleveland State women's tennis team has been honored by the ITA for their academic success, as the Vikings picked up ITA All-Academic Team honors, while four players were also named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
As a team, the Vikings posted a grade-point average of 3.55 for the 2023-24 academic year, earning ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 18
th time over the last 21 seasons. Cleveland State was one of four Horizon League teams to pick up the honor this year.
Individually,
Filippa Frogner and
Sima Heren both picked up their third ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, while
Ella Franz and
Mikaela Konstantinova both earned Scholar-Athlete accolades for the second time.
All four individuals posted a 3.80+ GPA for the 2023-24 academic year, including a pair of 4.0s from Frogner and Konstantinova.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.20 or above.
