CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State women's tennis head coach
Frank Polito announced an addition for the 2026-27 season, as Anna McKnight (Glasgow, Scotland) is set to join the Vikings this fall.
McKnight will join the Vikings following a junior career in which she has been ranked as the No. 1 player in Scotland and a top-20 player in the UK, while representing Scotland in the 4 Nations.
"We are thrilled to welcome Anna to Cleveland State. Anna is a fierce competitor with a mature game well beyond her years, and her passion for improvement is undeniable," Polito said. "She brings the grit, intensity, and heart that our program is built on. Coming all the way from Scotland, she's pumped to be a Viking. Anna is going to make an immediate impact, and we can't wait to watch her become part of the standard of our program."
As a two-time winner of the Scottish Cup, McKnight also won the j30 Edinburgh Singles and Doubles titles in 2024, and followed that up with another doubles title in 2025.
McKnight represented West of Scotland ladies team in the County Cup, and was part of the first-ever Scottish Schools championship in 2023.
Academically, McKnight plans on pursuing a degree in sport and entertainment management.
McKnight on Why CSU: "Coach Frank has a fantastic record and the facilities look amazing. I am excited about the opportunity to represent CSU and push myself alongside talented teammates and coaches."
