Cleveland State Men's Soccer Secures Tournament Spot, Defeating RMU 3-2 in Finale

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (7-6-3, 4-4-1) toppled Robert Morris (7-6-3, 4-3-2) 3-2 in the regular season finale on Tuesday afternoon. With the victory, the Vikings secured the fifth seed in the #HLMSOC tournament and will face fourth seed Green Bay on Sunday, Nov. 10 in the quarterfinals.

The Vikings couldn't have asked for a better start than getting on the board in the second minute as a Marko Rimac corner went off an RMU player into the back of the net. Eight minutes later, Bojan Kolevski scored after following up a Matteo Correia shot to lead 2-0.

Robert Morris broke through in the 24th minute as Kali McLoughlin volleyed in a diagonal ball from Logan Gilley. The scoreline remained 2-1 CSU at the half.

The Green and White pounced out of the break as M. Rimac scored a minute in off a through ball from Kolevski to lead 3-1. The Colonials got a goal back in the 78th minute as Kosi Udeh headed in a cross from Victor Thompson to trail 3-2. The defense then locked down to secure the victory, securing a spot in the postseason after missing out a year ago.

Robert Morris held a 19-10 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.

M. Rimac and Correia finished with a team-best three shots while Kolevski had two on frame. Ryan Poling came up with five saves on the day.
