CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's tennis team will return to action this week, participating in the ITA Midwest Regional beginning on Thursday, October 10. This year's ITA Midwest Regional will be hosted by Michigan State and will take place in East Lansing, Mich.
Main Singles Draw
Cleveland State sophomore
Lincoln Battle earned a spot in the Main Singles Draw, and will begin play in the 64-person draw on Friday, October 11. Battle enters the week with a 5-2 singles record on the year, including a 4-1 mark last time out at the Horizon League Individual Championships.
Qualifying Singles Draw
Cleveland State will have six representatives in the Qualifying Singles Draw, including
Carl Gedlitschka,
Nico Jamison,
Maxime Aremon,
Devin Boyer,
Cole Chappell, and
Ty Rothchild. This group will begin action on Thursday, October 10, with 16 players advancing to the Main Singles Draw out of the 64-person field.
Main Doubles Draw
Cleveland State will also have three teams in the Main Doubles Draw, with action in the 64-team bracket set to begin on Friday, October 11 for Gedlitschka/Battle, Boyer/Jamison and Aremone/Chappell.
Midwest Regional History
The duo of
Devin Boyer and
Carl Gedlitschka will be making their third appearance at the ITA Midwest Regional, while
Lincoln Battle,
Cole Chappell,
Nico Jamison, and
Ty Rothchild will be making their second trip to the regional event.
2024 Fall Campaign
This will mark the fourth of six events for the Vikings this fall. Cleveland State will round of the 2024 fall campaign by hosting the Viking Invitational (October 25-27) and traveling south for the Wake Forest Invite (November 1-3).
