CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (0-11-1, 0-5-0) fell to Green Bay (3-5-4, 1-2-2) 4-1 on Senior Day. The Vikings recognized six seniors before the contest:
Madi Snyder,
Makayla Parry,
Erica Leinweber,
Brooke Brockman,
Bella Delfino, and
Brooke Ulery.
The Phoenix tallied the first half's only goal in the 11th minute as Senah Hanes found the back of the net. Green Bay held a slim 5-3 advantage in shots during the half.
Cleveland State got the equalizer from
Mayra Sesmas in the 49th minute as the junior headed in a cross from
Emma Pompo.
Green Bay climbed back in front in the 62nd minute as Grace Downey finished off a corner from Hanna Arvay. The Phoenix extended the margin to 3-1 in the 81st minute as Senah Hanes headed in a cross. GB bagged the fourth and final goal in the 87th minute as Hanes completed the hat-trick with Green Bay winning 4-1.
Leinweber and Sesmas each had two shots in the game.
Elyse Broderick made one save.
Cleveland will host a pair of games this coming week, starting with Robert Morris on Thursday, Oct. 10, and then Detroit on Sunday, Oct. 13 for Alumnae Day.
