CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (0-12-1, 0-6-0) suffered a tough 1-0 loss to Robert Morris (4-4-5, 3-1-2) on Thursday evening.
The Vikings nearly got on the board in the 18th minute as
Mayra Sesmas's shot from 25 yards out went off the crossbar. Three minutes later, the Colonials opened the scoring as Paloma Swankler finished off a short corner by Ava Trethewey and Haleigh Finale.
The scoreline remained 1-0 in favor of the visitors at the half despite CSU holding an 8-3 edge in shots.
Cleveland State had a second shot go off the crossbar, this time off the foot of
Erica Leinweber in the 55th minute. The Vikings continued to push but could not equalize, falling 1-0.
The Green and White held an 18-9 advantage in shots and 4-3 shots on goal edge. Leinweber and Sesmas led the contest with three shots apiece.
Elyse Broderick made two saves in goal.
Cleveland State concludes a three-game homestand on Sunday, Oct. 13 with Detroit at 1 p.m.
