SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Cleveland State cross country team was back in action Friday, competing at the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame.
"Today was the most complete race that we have run so far this season, and it was a true team effort across the board," head coach
Jason Hudson said. "When everyone does their best job, we get great results, and that showed today. Natalie and Ana both ran great races, with both of their times ranking among the best 5K times in program history."
The Vikings were paced by the duo of
Natalie Keller (18:17) and
Ana Crangle (18:24), who both posted sub 19-minute times to finish 56
th and 61
st, respectively. Both times rank them in the top-five on the CSU 5K Record List.
Ariana Coats (19:22),
Deena Ingrassia (19:28) and
Brooke Bechtel (19:35) all finished with sub 20-minute 5K times, while Sage Colon was close behind with a time of 20:01.
The next group of Vikings to cross the finish line included
Madeline Crissman (20:59) and
Aubrey Evans (20:59), while
Sophia Pomnean (21:15) and
Alana Nowak (22:26) rounded out the Cleveland State competitors.
The Vikings will now have the week off, before returning to action at the Falcon Invite on Friday, October 18.
