SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
This weekend's matches will be the 12th and 13th meetings between Cleveland State and Purdue Fort Wayne, with the Mastodons owning a slight 6-5 edge in the all-time series. The Vikings have won three straight entering Friday's contest, including a series sweep over Purdue Fort Wayne last season.

VIKINGS IN FIVE-SET MATCHES
Last time out, Cleveland State played its third five-set match of the 2024 campaign, improving to 3-0 when going the distance this season. Earlier this year, the Vikings picked up a 3-2 win against UTRGV, while they also earned a five-set victory against Northern Kentucky in the #HLVB season opener.

WALKER CONTINUES TO MOVE UP CSU CAREER DIGS LIST
After posting 21-dig and 32-dig matches against Green Bay last time out,
Emma Walker now has 1,474 total digs on her career. Walker, who currently ranks fourth in the CSU Career Record Book, is just seven digs shy of moving into third place and 13 digs short of moving into second place on the list.

…WALKER'S 30-DIG EFFORT AGAINST THE PHOENIX
Emma Walker's 32-dig effort against Green Bay last time out marked her first 30-dig match of the season and the sixth of her career. Entering the week, Walker leads the league averaging 5.16 digs per set this season, and is one of three #HLVB players to post a 30+ dig performance on the year.

MIHACEVICH TALLIES ANOTHER TRIPLE-DOUBLE
In the finale against Green Bay last time out,
Ella Mihacevich posted her second triple-double of the season, finishing with 51 assists, 21 digs and 10 kills on the match. The 51 assists and 21 digs marked season-highs for the grad transfer, while the 10 kills marked her second double-digit kill match of the year. So far this season, Mihacevich ranks second among league players in assists (9.75) and hitting percentage (.350), while she is also averaging 2.22 digs per set.

TORRES LEADING THE VIKING OFFENSE
So far this season senior
Liberty Torres has been Cleveland State's top offensive threat, averaging 3.81 kills per set entering this weekend's matchup against Purdue Fort Wayne. As one of three #HLVB players with 250+ kills on the season, Torres has combined for a trio of 20-kill efforts, including a season-high 23 against Green Bay last time out.

VIKINGS ON THE BLOCK
Entering the fourth week of #HLVB play, Cleveland State leads the league averaging 2.24 blocks per set as a team after posting back-to-back double-digit block efforts against Green Bay last time out. So far this season the Vikings have combined for 152.0 total blocks, including seven double-digit team block performances. Individually,
Allana Appleby (1.08) ranks third among #HLVB players, while
JeriLynn Koehler (0.95) ranks fifth.

#HLVB WEEKLY HONORS
So far this year the Vikings have been honored by the Horizon League three times, with
Liberty Torres and
Emma Walker picking up a trio of Player of the Week accolades. Torres (9/9 & 9/16) is one of two multi-time honorees this year, while Walker earned the accolade on September 23.

HOKIE INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS
Earlier this season, Cleveland State went 3-0 at the Hokie Invitational, capturing the preseason title with wins over UNCG, Virginia Tech and Norfolk State. This marked the lone preseason title of the year for the Vikings, while it marked the second straight season that Cleveland State has captured at least one preseason title.

HEAD COACH CHUCK VOSS
Chuck Voss is in his 25th season at the helm of the Vikings, and owns a 423-298 (.586) overall record at Cleveland State. Last season, Voss recorded the 400th victory of his head coaching career in a 3-0 decision at IUPUI. Under Voss the Vikings have recorded 18 winning seasons, including a streak of 10 straight from 2009-2018. Cleveland State has eclipsed the 20-win mark eight times since Voss took over the program, and has captured Horizon League Tournament titles five times under his guidance.
