Cleveland State Men's Basketball Announces Promotional Schedule for 2022-23 Season

The Cleveland State Men's Basketball season is right around the corner, and Viking fans will be treated to many exciting promotional elements surrounding home games at the Wolstein Center in 2022-23. 

Hoopy Hour returns this season, giving fans access to discounted food and drinks one hour prior to tip-off for all weeknight home games. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a select $1 food items, $2 beers, as well as a combo food and beverage option for $6. 

Starting with the exhibition opener tomorrow and continuing throughout the non-conference portion of the schedule, fans will be able to purchase a ticket for just $6 for any of the non-Division I opponents who will come to the Wolstein Center. Games for this offer include the regular season opener on Monday against Notre Dame College and the game on December 21st against Mount St. Joseph. 

The schedule features several themed games and promotions for Viking fans to enjoy: 

-On Monday, November 7th we will celebrate the Vikings' back-to-back Horizon League Regular Season championships, and last season's NIT appearance, with a banner unveiling prior to the game. Replica championship rings will be given away to the first 300 fans in attendance. 

-As part of Homecoming Week at Cleveland State, the Friday, November 18th game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff features a special ticket package. Fans can purchase a game ticket as well as an invitation to a pre-game reception for $25. For more information and to purchase this offer, click HERE. In addition, the Women's Tennis team will be recognized for winning the Horizon League Championship last season.

-On Wednesday, November 23rd against Chicago State, admission will be free for all fans as part of Vikesgiving Basketball Weekend. Fans are encouraged to claim free tickets in advance of the game by clicking HERE.

-Thursday, December 1st marks the conference opener for the Vikings, as Oakland comes to town. Leis and Bucket Hats will be given away as part of Tropic Like Its Hot night.

-Saturday, December 3rd against Detroit is the first Saturday home game of the season. This game and all Saturday home games will feature the Kids Zone with games for children ages 12 and under. All youth in attendance will also be invited down to the floor for a post-game layup line. 

-Kent State comes to town on Saturday, December 10th for the Battle of Northeast Ohio. Fans can purchase tickets to this game and an additional home game of their choosing for a 15% discount as part of the Kent State two game plan. Click HERE for more details. Students are encouraged to visit the Wolstein Center for a Study Break with the Vikes as they prepare for final exam week.

-On Wednesday, December 21st, celebrate the holiday season with Cleveland State Athletics. Ornaments will be given away, and fans will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa on the concourse prior to the game. 

-Ring in the New Year with the Vikings at the Wolstein Center – on Thursday,  January 5th and Saturday, January 7th fans can purchase a combo of two tickets and two t-shirts for $20.23. 

-On Friday, February 10th against Robert Morris, Cleveland State Athletics will celebrate John McClendon Weekend in collaboration with the Horizon League. The game will also feature a Dean's Challenge, where the Dean of each college across campus, along with a student from their college, will compete in a university-wide free throw challenge. The winning college will be awarded this year's trophy as well as prizes, including a lunch with Coach Robinson. The game will also celebrate Rising Coaches, Equity and Inclusion night in conjunction with John McClendon Weekend.   

-The game against Youngstown State on Sunday, February 12th will feature football-championship "Big Game" themed ticket prices, with tickets available for $7 for sideline, $3 for corner, and just $2 for General Admission. 

-Friday, February 17th against Wright State features the Viketoberfest celebration. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase a ticket package that also includes craft beer samples, food and a miniature souvenir beer mug. The game serves as the kickoff to Hall of Fame Weekend, as we celebrate the 2022-23 induction class.   

-Sunday, February 19th against Northern Kentucky will feature the senior day recognition, seniors and their parents will be recognized prior to the game in a special ceremony. 

Throughout the season, Cleveland State home games will include several in-game promotions to add to the gameday experience. Rascal House pizza will be given away to the loudest fans, and fans can participate in the Galaxy Balloon mini ball toss. Free t-shirts will also be tossed out during games, as well as recognizing a fan of the game at each home game.
