Cleveland State Women's Golf Ends Day One of Cardinal Classic in Fourth Place

YORKTOWN, Indiana - The Cleveland State women's golf team finished the first day of the Ball State Cardinal Classic in fourth place of 16 teams. The Vikes will finish their two-day tournament on Tuesday after a final 18 holes.

THE TOURNAMENT
The Green and White ended Monday in fourth place shooting +38 (304-310 - 614). Cleveland State had an incredible first round, finishing T1 (304) before falling a few spots after the second 18 holes played.

Sabrina Coffman is leading the way for the Vikings in her second straight tournament, ending the first day T7 shooting six-over-par (72-78 - 150). Coffman's opening round of 72 was a team-low for Cleveland State on the day, while the transfer tallied six birdies.

Madison Butler cracked the top 20 shooting nine-over-par (74-79 - 153). Butler finished the first round +2, shooting +2 on the front nine and E on the back. The Viking began the second round breaking even on the front nine, before +7 on the back.

Right behind Butler is fellow Viking Meg Rossouw (T22) shooting 77-77 - 154 (+10). Rossouw had an identical showing in both rounds on the day, shooting +2 on the front nine and +5 on the back nine.

Olivia Swain finished T38 (81-76 - 157, +13), while Alex Jakins ended her first day T48 (80-80 - 160, +16) and Lexi Knight T73 (86-81 - 167, +23).

The Green and White will wrap up the Ball State Cardinal Classic on Tuesday playing a final round of 18 holes. Tee time is set for 8:30.
