Vikings Finish Third at Season Opening YSU Kickoff

BOARDMAN, Ohio - Kaylee Neumeister shot her second consecutive round of 74 and finished third overall to help the Cleveland State women's golf team place third at the Youngstown State Kickoff that concluded on Tuesday at the par-72 Mill Creek Park GC (North).

Neumeister, a native of Cortland, Ohio, finished the 36 hole event with a 148 total, just two shots behind Marissa Uradomo of Indiana State who shots 73-73. ISU's Sierrra Hargens shot 75-72 (147) to finish one shot ahead of Neumeister as the runner-up.

Sophie Kelner was right behind Neumeister, tying for fourth place with rounds of 74-76 (150). Rayna Oosterhuis followed yesterday's 79 with a 78 today and tied for 16th place, while Ellie Cronin finished 31st at 163 (78-85) and Emily Turski tied for 37th place with back-to-back rounds of 84.

Indiana State won the team title with a 605 total, seven shots ahead of Youngstown State and 12 shots ahead of the Vikings.

Dayton was fourth at 623, while Ashland and Northern Kentucky tied for fifth place at 632.

The Vikings are back in action on Sunday and Monday (Sept. 11-12) at the William & Mary Invitational.
