CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's basketball program is mourning the loss of former student-athlete Pape Badiane who passed away in a car accident over the weekend. He was 36.

Badiane played at CSU from 2000-04 and ranks third all-time in program history with 138 blocked shots, while his 57 blocked shots in 2002-03 are the second most in a season at CSU.

Badiane was currently playing in the third French division He was a member of the French national team in Eurobasket 2007 and he also played in Euroleague as a member of Roanne. He also won the French Cup in 2009, the "week of the aces" in 2007 and 2009 and was a three-time selection in the French All Star Game (2006, 2007, 2009).
