Vikings Tie for Second at Season Opening YSU Kickoff

VIENNA, Ohio - The Cleveland State women's golf team tied for second place at the season opening YSU Kickoff that was played on Monday at the par-72, 6,161-yard Candywood G.C.

CSU carded rounds of 303 and 305 for a school record 36 hole total of 608. It broke the old mark of 610 set at last year's YSU Kickoff with rounds of 314 and 296.

Youngstown State won the team title by four shots, carding rounds of 301 and 303 to best CSU and Northern Kentucky which both had 36 hole totals of 608.

Chicago State was fourth at 620.

The Vikings had three players finish in the top-10, led by Allyson Hackman who finished third with rounds of 76-73 (149). Hannah Bennie was one shot back after rounds of 73-77 (150) and finished fourth, while Rayna Oosterhuis carded back-to-back rounds of 77 to tie for ninth place.

The Vikings return to action at the Ball State Cardinal Classic on Sept. 21-22.
