Vikings Remain in Fifth Place at League Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Cleveland State shot a second round 319, knocking five shots off its first round score, and the Vikings remained in fifth place after two rounds of the Horizon League Championship on Saturday.

The league championship in being played at the par-73, 5,817-yard Mission Inn Resort Las Colinas Course.

Sophomore Allyson Hackman carded her second consecutive round of 78 and is tied for sixth place overall with a 36 hole total of 156. Senior Shelly Ford shot an 80 and is tied for eighth place overall and 156 (76-80).

Junior Colleen Miller is also in the top-20 with a 36 hole total of 163 (81-82) tying her for 19th place.

Oakland continues to lead the tournament with a 36 hole total of 624, eight shots ahead of second place Detroit (632). Valparaiso is in third place at 638 and is followed by Youngstown State (641), CSU (643), UIC (656) and Green Bay (660).

The final round of the league championship will tee off at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday with the team champion earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
