Vikings One Shot Off Lead at Butler Spring Invite

AVON, Ind. - The Cleveland State women's golf team opened the Butler Spring Invitational with a round of 314 and is one shot off the lead at the par 71, 6,085-yard Prestwick C.C.

The first round 314 is the second lowest round by the Vikings this year and tied for the fifth lowest round in program history.

CSU enters Tuesday's final round just one shot behind Butler who leads the event at 313. CSU is tied for second place with Chicago State, two shots ahead of fourth place Dayton. Robert Morris is in fifth place at 319, while Detroit (321) and Green Bay (325) round out the standings.

Senior Shelly Ford fired a 74, one shot off her career-low, and is tied for the individual lead at three-over-par. Sophomore Allyson Hackman is tied for eighth after a first round 78, while senior Madeline Kaminski shot an 80 and is tied for 17th place.

The final round of the event will be played on Tuesday.
