CSU Finishes as Runner-Up at Benbow Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Cleveland State women's golf team shot a final round 324 and finished as the runner-up in the 11 team field at the Benbow Invitational that concluded on Tuesday.

The Vikings opened with a 326 on Monday and held the lead, but Newberry College, which opened with a 333 on Monday, shot a final round 316 to edge CSU by one shot for the title.

CSU was paced by sophomore Allyson Hackman who carded rounds of 80 and 78 to finish tied for third with a 36 hole total of 158. Senior Shelly Ford tied for fifth place at 159 (80-79), while senior Micaela Cronin tied for ninth place at 162. After an 84 on Monday, Cronin shot CSU's low round of today with a 78.

The Vikings are back in action at the Butler Bulldog Invitational on March 24-25.
