LEXINGTON, Ky. - Cleveland State earned its second consecutive sweep at the Kentucky Invitational with a 30-18, 30-18, 30-20 triumph over Georgetown in day two action at Memorial Coliseum.
CSU (5-2), which trailed just four times all match, earned its fifth sweep of the season.
"We played really well this afternoon," head coach Chuck Voss said. "We had a lot of people play well and are starting to do a great job of being in the right spots on the court. That makes it a lot easier to score points."
Senior Mel Snyder, who guided the Vikings to a .276 (52-17-127) hitting percentage, finished with 36 assists and 15 digs.
"Mel did a great job of spreading the ball around and putting people in good spots," Voss said.
Sophomore Alexis Korovich also notched a double-double with 11 kills and a match-best 17 digs. Sophomore Liz Fazio tallied a match-best 13 kills, while junior Jenni Ramminger added 12. Both hit better than .320.
