TOLEDO, Ohio - Despite two players recording double-doubles and leading Xavier in almost every statistical category, the Cleveland State volleyball team dropped its first match of the season, 22-30, 30-24, 30-25, 21-30, 15-11, to the Musketeers at the Toledo Invitational on Saturday afternoon at John F. Savage.
The Vikings, who played without sophomore Liz Fazio who was resting an injury, fell to 2-1 this season, while Xavier remains perfect at 3-0.
"I thought we played really well against a great Xavier team," CSU head coach Chuck Voss said. "We battled all match, but they came through and made the plays at the end."
