ERIE, Pa. – The Cleveland State volleyball team was back in action on Friday, dropping a pair of 3-1 contests against Siena and Morehead State.
The Vikings will close out play at the Mercyhurst Invitational tomorrow, facing the host Lakers at 2:00 p.m.
In the first match of the day against Siena,
Bryn VanVleet had a team-best 16 kills on the match, while
Julia Jozefov added nine.
Vayda Delventhal led the defense with 14 digs, while VanVleet was just shy of a double-double with nine digs.
The Vikings combined for seven service aces against Siena, including two each from DeBina,
Fiona Cooper and
Allison Salazar.
In the second match against Morehead State, VanVleet tallied another double-digit kill performance with 12 kills to lead the Vikings, while DeBina added 10.
Cooper tallied 30 assists and 13 digs for her first double-double of the year, while Delventhal added a team-best 16 digs on the match.
Through five matches this season, Delventhal is averaging 3.76 digs per set, while VanVleet is averaging 3.76 kills per set – both leading the Vikings.
