Postgame Quotes
Cleveland State vs. Slippery Rock
Nov. 7, 2006
Cleveland State Head Coach Gary Waters: "I thought there were some hard minutes played and at times I thought there were some lackadaisacal minutes. And what I tell our players is that when you play teams that are not of the same division, you have to take them out of their game. I did not think we did that at times. I think we gave up too many lay-ups in this game and that's something we're going to work on."
Waters on the play of Victor Morris: "I thought Victor played well for us. He hit some shots and ran the team at times."
Waters on team's shooting: "We just didn't shoot the ball well tonight. When you win by 20 and you didn't shoot well, that tells you something. We have to do a better job. We're going to play a great team on Saturday and if we shoot like we shot today, we're going to be in trouble."
"We had some guys moving and passing and looking for the open man, which I like. I like team basketball. We just need to be more aggressive."
"I think they're going to be even better than they were last year. They have more talent. They brought in a junior college All-American that's unbelievable and they have a host of inside guys that are pretty good. They're coming in here pretty confident and we're going to have to play and do some good things to play with them."
Cleveland State Guard Victor Morris: "I think we came out with a mental focus on executing and working on what we have to work on. When we went on the floor, it wasn't about who we were playing, it was more about us."
"Everybody's eager to get out on the floor and play and we saw a little bit of that tonight. I think everybody's excited about starting the season."
