Late Run Propels Seminoles Past Vikings, 76-63

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Monte Cummings scored a career-high 28 points, including eight in the final 3:14 Wednesday, as Florida State went on a 19-2 closing run to beat Cleveland State 76-63.

The game seesawed back-and-forth until the final minutes with 15 lead changes and eight ties.

Delvon Arrington's 3-point shot with 4:46 left gave the Seminoles (4-4) the lead for good at 64-61 with 4:14 left. The 5-11 senior guard narrowly missed a triple-double, finishing with nine points, nine assists and eight rebounds.

Cleveland State (3-4), led 41-40 at the half, and took a 61-57 on a free throw by Theo Dixon with 6:54 left, but went scoreless the final 4:14 and went without a field goal the final eight minutes.

Florida State shot 51.4 percent for the game - including 12 of 16 by Cummings - compared to just 36.4 percent shooting for the Vikings.

Antwuan Dixon and Michael Joiner each added 10 points for Florida State and Joiner added a game-high nine rebounds.

Jamaal Harris, who hit 3 of 4 shots from 3-point range, led Cleveland State with 19 points and Theo Dixon added 14.
