Men's Basketball Drops Stony Brook, 70-53

CLEVELAND (AP) -

Jamaal Harris scored 20 points and Theo Dixon had 13 points and a career-high five assists as Cleveland State beat Stony Brook 70-53 Monday night for its fifth straight win.

Kevin Ross added 12 points for Cleveland State (10-6) and Jermaine Robinson had 10.

Leon Brisport and Dawud Munir had 10 points apiece for Stony Brook (7-8).

The Vikings tied the game at 15-15 halfway through the first half on the first of two free throws by Harris and his second put Cleveland State ahead for good.

Back-to-back baskets by Andre' Williams and Tahric Gosley kicked off a 12-2 run that put the Vikings ahead 28-17 with 4:24 to play in the first half.

After Munir responded with a 3-point shot to make it 28-20 with 4:09 to play, Dixon hit a jumper and Ross had a layup to begin a 10-2 run to push the Vikings lead to 38-22 at halftime.

The Seawolves got within 14 twice in the second half, the last at 55-41 with 10:05 left on Terrill Ware's layup. Gosley then hit a dunk for the Vikings to kick off a 7-0 run to make it 62-41 with 3:44 to play.
