St. Bonaventure Edges Cleveland State 64-61

CLEVELAND (AP) - Kevin Houston scored 24 points and St. Bonaventure held Cleveland State without a basket for the final 7 1/2 minutes to beat the Vikings 64-61 Tuesday night in non-conference action.

St. Bonaventure (10-5) also got 15 points from Vidal Massiah and 12 from Peter Van Paassen. Cleveland State (10-9) was led by Theo Dixon's 28 points, tying his career high, and his season-high eight rebounds.

Dixon's jumper with 7:54 left put the Vikings ahead 56-47 and was the last basket for the Vikings, who went 5-for-8 from the free-throw line in the rest of the way.

After Jamaal Harris hit two free throws for the Vikings, Houston's layup with 6:46 left began a 10-0 run sparked by his three baskets and two free throws and got St. Bonaventure within 58-57 with 5:07 left.

Jermaine Robinson of Cleveland State made two free throws, but St. Bonaventure responded with Massiah's layup and two free throws by Van Paassen to take the lead for good at 61-60 with 1:31 to go.
