CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - Jamaal Harris scored 21 points as Cleveland State beat Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 81-77 to win the championship game of the Koch Petroleum Islander Invitational on Friday night.
Cleveland State (7-6) overcame 12-of-30 shooting in the first half to lead 35-29 at halftime. They had double-digit scoring from three other players. Jermaine Robinson scored 17, Kevin Ross had 14 and Theo Dixon added 10.
The Islanders (6-7) lost despite a 31-point scoring effort from Michael Hicks. Sennai Atsbeha had 13 points, and Arunas Drasutis added 11.
Tahric Gosley scored five points and grabbed eight rebounds for Cleveland State before fouling out of the game.
