PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Kevin Lyde scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, both career highs, and Alex Wesby had a career-high 17 points as Temple defeated Cleveland State 73-46 Saturday night.

The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Owls, the longest in coach John Chaney's 19 years at the helm.

Lyde, a 6-9, 240-pound center, made 10 of 15 shots for the Owls (5-7), while Lynn Greer also had 17 points. Jamaal Harris had 12 points and Theo Dixon had 10 points for Cleveland State, now 5-6.

Leading 45-34 with 14:21 remaining, the Owls ran off 13 straight points to take a 58-34 advantage. After Jermaine Robinson scored for the Vikings, Wesby hit two straight 3-point shots and Lyde made a layup to give the Temple their biggest lead, 66-36, at the 6:47 mark.

It was the first coaching visit to Philadelphia for Cleveland State coach Rollie Massimino, who spent 19 years at nearby Villanova before leaving after the 1991-92 season.
