KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Junior swingman Theo Dixon fired in a career-high five 3-pointers en route to 17 points as Cleveland State upended host UMKC 57-55 on the second day of the Energia Systems Thanksgiving Tournament Saturday at Municipal Auditorium.

The Vikings, 3-1, will face Southeast Missouri State, a 78-53 winner over Robert Morris, at 1 p.m. CT Sunday for fifth-place.

CSU trailed 33-31 at the half, but held the Kangaroos to just nine points though the first 14 minutes of the second half. Meanwhile Viking guard Doc Taylor caught fire in the same time span, scoring eight points to fuel CSU's 19-9 run which gave the Vikes a 10-point cushion, 52-42, with 5:51 remaining.

However, the Kangaroos refused to fold and Cleveland State had to stave off a last-second shot by UMKC to take away the win.

Neither team shot well in the contest as CSU hit 37 percent (17-of-46) while UMKC connected on just 32.7 percent (18-of-55).

UMKC's Michael Jackson aso scored 17 points to shared game honors with Dion. Jamaal Harris and Doc Taylor added 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Vikings.

For the fourth straight game, the Vikes outrebounded their opponent, holding a 38-35 advantage on the boards despite a game-high 14 caroms by UMKC's Will Palmer. CSU was led by senior Kevin Ross with nine rebounds.
