Azzariti (1969-71) was a two-year member of the program after transferring from Lorain County Community College. Azzariti qualified for the NCAA Championships as a senior, placing sixth at the event as a heavyweight. He became the Vikings third All-American and lone heavyweight All-American. The following year, he was named the CSU wrestler of the year.
