Box Score Akron, Ohio - Cleveland State (0-5-0) endured a 2.5 hour weather delay on Thursday evening before falling to Akron (3-2-0) by a score of 2-0.

The Zips had just one shot in the first half which was a goal in the 25th minute. The Vikings held a 5-1 edge in shots during the half, but trailed 1-0 at the break.

Akron sealed the 2-0 road loss in the 87th minute despite the Green and White again holding the shot advantage in its favor, 8-6.

Cleveland State ended the game with a 13-7 edge in shots behind a game-best three shots from Sidney Nicholas off the bench. Summer Swords got her first collegiate start in goal, playing the entire 90 minutes, while making two saves.

The Vikings will now travel to St. Bonaventure to take on the Bonnies on Sunday, Sept. 6 at 1:00 p.m.
