Youngstown, Ohio - Cleveland State (1-7-1, 1-0-1) went down to Youngstown State (1-7-3, 1-0-1) and gained a point after tying 1-1 on Thursday night.
Youngstown State grabbed the first lead of the game with a goal in the 15th minute. The Vikings answered back ten minutes later as
Sidney Nicholas scored her first goal in the Green and White off a pair of assists from
Ryleigh Alcala and
Olivia Lewis. The assist for Lewis is the first of her career.
In the first half, the Vikings held a 6-5 shot edge in shots with half of those on goal.
The second half went scoreless as the Green and White defended strong as the Penguins held a commanding 15-1 advantage in shots.
Nicholas paced the Vikings with three shots, including two on frame, while
Olivia Cruz was next up with two shots.Â
Hayleigh Lewis had a strong game in net, finishing with saves.
Cleveland State will wrap up a three-game road trip at Robert Morris on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 1 p.m.
