Box Score CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cleveland State (0-7-0) wrapped up non-league play with a heartbreaking 1-0 loss against USI (1-5-2) on Senior Night.

The Vikings recognized seven seniors prior to the game: Elise Boyd, Hayleigh Lewis, Sidney Nicholas, Nikolina Miskovic, Carly Stinson, Olivia Cruz, and Rhi Molnar.

The opening half went scoreless with the Screaming Eagles holding a 10-2 edge in shots. Lewis came up big in the first 45 minutes with five saves.

USI netted the lone goal in 88th minute after a wild scrum in the box ended in the 1-0 loss for the Green and White.

Cleveland State was outshot in the game 25-6.

Cortlyn Hefty paced the Vikings with two shots, including one on frame.

Lewis had a great night despite the one goal against after making nine saves.

The Vikings start conference play at Oakland on Saturday, Sept. 19 with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
