INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Cleveland State women's basketball team came up short in the #HLWBB Semifinals Monday, dropping a 60-55 contest against Youngstown State.

The Game
After trailing by one heading into the halftime break at 24-23, the Vikings opened the third quarter with back-to-back baskets from
Jada Leonard and
Izabella Zingaro, gaining a 27-24 lead just over one minute into the frame. The Vikings then added to their lead with another Zingaro basket followed by a Fegan jumper, extending the lead to 31-24 midway through the frame.
YSU answered the Viking scoring run with a pair of baskets of their own, closing the gap to just one point, before a Zingaro and-one regained a four-point lead for the Vikings at 34-30.
The two teams then traded baskets over the next few possessions, until 2-for-2 efforts from Zingaro and Fegan at the free throw line, gave the Vikings a 40-35 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
YSU got on the board first during the fourth quarter, before another Zingaro basket gave the Vikings a five-point lead at 42-37. The Penguins then used an 8-4 run to close the gap to just one point at 47-46, before four straight points from YSU put the momentum back in its favor at 51-46.
Cleveland State then answered with an 8-3 run of its own, as a
Colbi Maples layup knotted the score at 54-54, before the and-one free throw put the Vikings up 55-54 with just 35 seconds left on the clock.
YSU then closed out the game with six straight points, coming away with the 60-55 victory.
