Viking of the Week Nominees
Carl Gedlitschka, Men's Tennis
Went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles on the week.
Brennen Hickey, Lacrosse
Had a game-best seven points on five goals and two assists against Canisius.
Olivia Todd, Track & Field
Set the 400 meter record and was part of the distance medley relay record team at the Horizon League championship.
Izabella Zingaro, Women's Basketball
Averaged 27.5 points per game while shooting 80-percent from the field on the week, recording back-to-back 20-point performances.
 
 
 
Women's Basketball
-Cleveland State will open Horizon League Tournament play at home, hosting Oakland in a first round contest on Wednesday.
-Last week, the Vikings closed out regular season play with wins against Wright State and Oakland, clinching the No. 3 seed in the #HLWBB Tournament.
-Izabella Zingaro was named the #HLWBB Player of the Week after averaging 27.5 points per game on the week while shooting 80-percent from the field.
Men's Basketball
-Cleveland State opens the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament on Monday against IU Indy.
-The Vikings wrapped up the regular season over the weekend at Robert Morris.
Track & Field
-The Vikings will transition to the outdoor season which begins on March 28 at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open hosted by Cedarville University.
-Cleveland State finished eighth at the Horizon League Indoor Championships.
-Olivia Todd set the 400-meter record in prelims after crossing in 57.43.
-For a second time this year, the distance medley relay record was set as Kayla Crissman, Olivia Todd, Sophie Ngetich, and Ana Crangle finished in 12:03.55, placing them fourth in the event.
-Trinity Lamp tied her school record in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.75, placing her fourth overall.
Fencing
-Cleveland State will be back in action at the NCAA Midwest Regional Sunday, hosting the competition inside the Wolstein Center.
-The Vikings were last in action at the CCFC Championships, when Nolan Giovagnoli placed seventh in the men's epee, while the men's team finished third overall.
Men's Tennis
-The Vikings will open their annual spring break trip this weekend, traveling to SMU on Sunday.
-Last time out, Cleveland State went 1-1, including a 6-1 win over Butler.
-The trio of Carl Gedlitschka, Cole Chappell and Devin Boyer all went 2-0 in singles on the week.
Women's Tennis
-The Vikings will have just one match this week, traveling to Dayton on Friday.
-Last time out, Ella Franz picked up a win at No. 2 singles, marking her fourth win over the last five matches.
Lacrosse
-Cleveland State concludes non-conference play on Saturday with Senior Day against St. Bonaventure.
-The Viking defeated Canisius in its final non-conference road game, 13-9.
-Brennen Hickey had a career day, finishing with the second-most points in a game, seven, and scoring the fourth-most goals in a game, five.
-Landon Whalen and Creed McDonald each finished with three goals apiece.
