Cleveland State Men’s Basketball Announces Non-Conference Schedule

Cleveland, OH-The Cleveland State men's basketball team will play an 11-game non-conference slate in 2025-26. Head coach Rob Summers has assembled a challenging schedule as he leads a new-look roster into his first season in charge of the program.

Cleveland State's non-conference schedule features five teams who won 20 or more games in 2024-25 and four who appeared in postseason play in either the NCAA Tournament or NIT.

The schedule includes a two-game trip to the Greenbrier Tip-Off, where Cleveland State will match up against Radford and Kent State on back-to-back days November 15-16. The games will take place at the historic Greenbrier Resort located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

The Vikings will play four total games in Cleveland highlighted by a matchup against Valparaiso on November 19th. The game marks the second game of a home-and-home series which began last season. Cleveland State earned a key early season road victory in defeating the Beacons 75-67 on November 12, 2024 and will look to make it two in a row in the series when Valpo returns to the Wolstein Center this November.

Key road matchups include two games in Chicago starting with the season opener at Loyola on November 3. Cleveland State will return to the Chicagoland area one week later for a game against Northwestern on November 10.
The Vikings will close the first month of the season with a road trip to Columbia, MO to take on Missouri. The Tigers are led by former Cleveland State head coach Dennis Gates and will pit Gates against Summers, who served as his lead assistant coach at Cleveland State and Missouri prior to taking over the CSU program.

Single-game tickets for all home games are on sale now. The Horizon League schedule was released last week and features 10 league home contests culminating in the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship in early March. Additional details including a full promotional schedule for all home games will be released at a later date.
