CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Vikings (3-3-1) wrapped up non-league play with a 3-0 shutout of Morehead State (2-6-0) on Sunday afternoon.

Cleveland State got on the board in the 35th minute when
Olivia Cruz finished off a pass from Sesmas. Three minutes later,
Ryleigh Alcala netted her first collegiate goal off a cross from Pompo to lead 2-0 at the half.
Sarver bagged the lone goal of the second half in the 76th minute off a pass from Alcala to win 3-0.
The Vikings doubled the visitors in the shot column, 18-9, and held an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal. Each team took four corner kicks.
Sesmas had four shots, with four of those on frame, while Alcala had four shots, including one on frame.
Elyse Broderick recorded her second straight shutout in goal after making one save.
The Vikings will open Horizon League play with two consecutive road games starting with Detroit on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.
