Box Score AKRON, Ohio – The Vikings (0-2-1) were dealt a 1-0 setback on Monday evening against No. 16 Akron (3-0-1).
The opening half was a scoreless battle, with the Zips holding a 3-2 advantage in shots.
Akron struck for the only goal in the 59th minute as Stefan Dobrijevic played a long ball over the top from beyond midfield to Jack Roman for the game-winner. The goal was then reviewed for possible offsides, but the call on the field was confirmed.
The Zips outshot the Green and White 15-2 and held a 17-1 edge in corner kicks.

Ryan Poling made three saves in goal.
