Cleveland State Men’s Basketball Signs Kamari Jones

Cleveland, OH-Kamari Jones, a guard from Indianapolis, Indiana, is the newest member of the Cleveland State men's basketball team. Jones is the first signee for new head coach Rob Summers and joins the Vikings with three years of eligibility remaining.

"Kamari is a perfect fit for what we're building here at Cleveland State," said Coach Summers. "He plays with energy, he's coachable, and he brings a level of integrity and love for the game that's rare. I can't wait to get to work with him."

Jones comes to Cleveland after spending two years at Western Carolina. After redshirting in 2023-24 Jones saw action for the first time this past season. Jones appeared in four games for the Catamounts averaging 3.0 points per game. Jones scored a season-high six points in WCU's season opener against Bob Jones on November 4.

Prior to playing at Western Carolina Jones spent his senior season at the elite Hilcrest Prep Academy in Gilbert, Arizona. He attended Lawrence Central High School in Indiana where he averaged 15.3 points, three rebounds and two steals per game during his high school career. Jones also played his AAU basketball for D1 Indiana.

When asked about his commitment Jones stated, "I committed to Cleveland State because it feels like home. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt the love and family atmosphere. Coach Summers and the staff believe in me, and I trust their vision completely."
