Cleveland State Softball Visits Oakland for Final #HLSB Regular Season Series

Rochester, MI-The Cleveland State softball team is nearing the completion of the 2025 regular season and will finish with three crucial games at Oakland to finish the schedule. The two teams will play a single game on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game starting at noon.

The Vikings are in first place in the Horizon League standings with a 16-5 league record. Cleveland State sits one win away from clinching the outright regular season championship. Robert Morris is in second place with a 16-7 league record, however the Colonials are off from league play in the final weekend of the regular season. The Vikings can secure the regular season championship with a victory in any of the three games against Oakland.

Cleveland State is looking to avenge its only league series loss of the season after dropping two of three to Robert Morris at Viking Field last weekend. The Vikings had won their first six league series of the season to begin conference play.

Oakland is tied for seventh in the league standings at 7-14 overall. The Golden Grizzlies hold a 7-6 record at home this season and are tied for seventh in the league standings. The top six teams make next week's Horizon League Tournament. OU is tied with Detroit Mercy for seventh place as both teams are one game back of Green Bay who currently holds the sixth spot. All but one team is alive to make the tournament field headed into the final weekend of play. Cleveland State has already clinched its spot in the tournament and will be a top two seed.

Live stats will be available for all three games with live streaming coverage on ESPN+ for the doubleheader on Saturday.
