Fort Wayne, IN-The Cleveland State softball team is set to take on Purdue Fort Wayne in a midweek conference series starting tomorrow with a single game scheduled for a noon first pitch. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Wednesday also slated for noon.

Cleveland State is 13-2 in league play and has won eight games in a row coming into this week's action. The Vikings sit atop the Horizon League standings and have won all five conference series they have played so far.

The two teams were supposed to meet last week but the series was adjusted due to inclement weather and shifted back to this week. Purdue Fort Wayne is in third place in the league at 8-4 and has won its last two games coming in.

Cleveland State has swept its last two league series against Detroit Mercy and Green Bay at home and is back on the road for the first time since March 29.

Melissa Holzopfel continues to dominate in the pitching department for the Vikings. Holzopfel leads the league with a 1.26 ERA in conference play as well as ranking first with 95 strikeouts. She sports a 0.93 WHIP in league games. Holzopfel is 11-1 in league games with three shutouts over her 12 appearances.

The Vikings continue to hold the league lead in home runs with 20 in league play.
Emma Gilkerson leads the league with seven home runs in conference play. Five of Cleveland State's regular starters are hitting over .300 in conference games.
