Ndjeka Wraps Up NCAA Championships

State College, PA-Senior Jesse Ndeka wrapped up his time at the NCAA Fencing Championships this weekend. Ndjeka competed as one of 24 fencers to qualify for the national finals in the men's epee draw.

Ndjeka accumulated four bout victories in the five rounds of pool play. The top four from the pool play round advance to the final round to determine the individual national champion. Ndjeka did not finish the pool rounds and had to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.

Ndjeka qualified for the national tournament for the second year in a row after placing eighth at the NCAA Regional tournament earlier this month. This marks the first time that Cleveland State has had a student-athlete qualify twice for the national tournament in over 20 years.
