ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Cleveland State track & field team was back in action Friday, picking up nine event wins at the Stark County Challenge.

"As a whole, the team did very well today, it was a heavy training week in the weight room and on the track, so for the team to respond this well at today's competition is impressive and makes me optimistic for the rest of the season," head coach Jason Hudson said. "It was a chilly and slightly windy day as we kicked off the outdoor season here in Ohio, and I'm looking forward to continuing the work over the next few weeks."

In sprint events, the trio of Madison Luthy, Zuriah Radeff-Koonce and Olivia Todd all picked up wins on the day. Luthy posted a time of 15.65 in the 100 Hurdles, Radeff-Koonce tallied a time of 58.65 in the 400 Meter Dash and Todd notched a time of 1:06.44 in the 400 Hurdles.

In addition, Todd placed second in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 15.76, while Madison Morris placed second in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 59.95.

Grace Frye finished the day with a quartet of field event wins, placing first in the Hammer (48.71), Javelin (38.09), Shot Put (13.07), and Discus (41.36). Luthy and Natalie Pleban also posted a pair of runner-up finishes, Luthy in the Long Jump (5.29) and Pleban in the High Jump (1.45).

Cleveland State also picked up a pair of wins in the 4x100 and 4x400 Relays, as the quartet of Leah Hoover, Todd, Pleban, and Radeff-Koonce posted a time of 49.35 in the 4x100 and Luthy, Todd, Radeff-Koonce, and Morris notched a time of 4:06.39 in the 4x400.
